I dont think many sites give this natural wonder the recognition it rightly deserves,it is a fantastic trek through
some of the most fantastic scenery and mysterious rainforest. You can hear eary birdsong and never know whats round the next tree (it is safe though) You really do need to allow a good three hours to visit. .There are some steep climbs and it can be
quite muddy so walking shoes or boots are a must. The trip starts of with a drive through the capital. Its quite a small capital not what most of us would expect but full of culture. Then on up through the villages outside, the drive takes you around some
very sharp bends (the drivers really are very skillful)so dont feel worried like me.The drive alone is really worth taking the views are spectacular so dont forget to take a camera and plenty to drink. |

Towards the waterfall, there is a smaller one which you can collect the purest springwater from,it really is worth trying.
The walk in some parts is quite steep so i wouldnt recommend it for anyone who doesn't mind a little adventure coupled with a bit of hard work. This is something i have done a
few times really do think its something you will remember for a long time.Enjoy!! |

This is 'The Emerald Pool' It is a hidden tropicaly warm waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation and coulorful flowers. The water in
the pool appears emerald green hence its name.It is well worth seeing. It is a lovely walk along a very well marked nature trail, just off Castle Bruce Rd (approx 15 mins) It is worth bearing in mind that it does get busy when the cruise ships are docked.

Both the black bear and the brown bear(also known as the grizzly) tramp through the undergrowth. The bears feed on the pacific salmon that
inhabit the waterways and love the region's plentiful blueberries ans salmonberries. Moose, mountain goats, gray wolves and sitka black-tailed deer also live in the mountains and forests Wolf sightings are extremely rare, but do look out for the bears
feeding on leaves and shrubs along the rocky beaches and for mountain goats high in the rocky outcrops. |

Of all the animals that dwell along the coastline,You are most likelyto see the marine mammals. Many species of whales can often be spotted throught the
summer months.Humpback whales surface close to the shore when and make a terrific sound as they produce air and water vapor from there blowholes. You could also catch a glimpse of the killer whales which you can spot by there beautiful black and white
markings. |

Take my word for it when i tell you the pictures you see of Alaska do it no justice whatsoever, I had always wanted to visit and the first view of the real
alaska took my breath away. The lanscape itself looks much the same as it did when the first inhabitants arrived,so it has been completely unspoilt.Wildlife thrives in the imense forests and along the waterways. It is such a fantastic feeling when you
are surrounded by a backdrop of towering snow capped mountains, when you spot your first whale or see a bear catch a salmon.Where ever you are in alaska you will be spellbound by its natural beauty. |
